The Vail Mountaineer Bantam A’s went into to the Arvada Winter Hockey Festival as an underdogs and narrowly missed the championship game by a single goal. Playing in a field of teams from the West Coast, Nebraska, Texas and Arvada, Vail came to make a statement. The team had a late game to start against the Omaha Gladiators. winners of their Midwest conference and the Silver Stick Tournament winners.
