Vail, CO Colorado

VAIL, Colorado – The Vail Breakaways played their last league game of the season at Dobson Sunday and blanked the University of Denver Pioneers, 9-0.

That would be five wins in a row and and a very positive way to head into the state championship tournament on April 9-11.

“It feels really good to have this kind of momentum going into our state tournament,” said captain Jen Babcock. “And it was great to see so many fans turn out for our last home game.”

In the next couple weeks, the Breakaways will have a few practices and a scrimmage to get ready for the upcoming tournament and they will be holding their Third annual Beer Bust at Agave. The Beer Bust is a fundraiser for the Vail Breakaways to help with the costs of ice time, tournament fees, and travel expenses.

This year’s beer bust will be held on Saturday from 3-6 p.m. at Agave. Five dollars gets you in the door, free beer, and entered into the grand prize giveaway! So come to apres at Agave to support you local women’s hockey team!
