Three Vail Gymnastics team members competed in the Colorado State Championships last week, placing well in several disciplines.

Molly Childers, 12, of Berry Creek Middle School competed in the Colorado Level 7 State Gymnastics Championships in Boulder on March 17, placing sixth in the floor exervise and 17th all-around. Sage Ebel, 12, of the Vail Mountain School competed in the Colorado Level 8 State Gymnastics Championships in Fort Collins on March 24, and placed 10th all-around.

Haley Monica, 14, of Eagle Valley Middle School also competed in Level 8 and landed bronze in the balance beam, strong enough for seventh all-around and a secured roster-spot representing the State of Colorado at the Regional Gymnastics Championships held April 14 at Texas Women’s University in Denton, Texas.

Childers, Ebel and Monica are coached by David Ward and Heather Gilger of the Vail Recreation District, practicing and competing out of the Vail Gymnastics Center adjacent to Red Sandstone Elementary School in Vail.
