Vail, CO Colorado
Jessica Stone, a University of Denver sophomore majoring in business, has qualified for the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association national finals to be held in Cazenovia, N. Y., May 3-6.
Stone qualified for the Cacchione Cup, intercollegiate riding’s most prestigious event, by accumulating the most points of any rider in the region in the open division, the most advanced division in intercollegiate competition. Stone has also qualified to ride in the individual open jumping competition at nationals.
Stone, who often practices at the soon-to-be-demolished Berry Creek Equestrian Center in Edwards, also rides with the DU equestrian team weekly. She has been competing in equestrian competition for more than a decade and is also a ski instructor at Vail during the winters. She is the daughter of John and Jamie Stone of Vail, and she attended high school at Concord Academy in Concord, Mass.
