Vail Valley golf: League results

Daily Staff Report
Vail, CO Colorado

Eagle-Vail opened its men’s league slate with a two-man scramble Tuesday. Teams were formed by a blind draw and out of that chaos emerged the team of Ben Daniel and John Bye with a glittering 70. The duo was actually 2-over-par until the fateful 14th. With a charge reminiscent of Jack Nicklaus on the Sunday of the 1986 Masters, they eagled the par-5 to get back to even and had tweeters on Nos. 16 and 18.

The results:

Ben Daniel/John Bye 70

Tony Aveil/Bill Vancuran 75
