Vail Valley racers advance at X

ASPEN – Friday was qualifying day for the Vail Valley’s ski and snowboardcross athletes at the X Games in Aspen, and they did just fine, thank you.

Eagle-Vail’s Chris Del Bosco was the top qualifier in skicross. He finished with a time of 1 minute, 22.52 seconds, easily besting the field. Aspen’s Casey Puckett was second in 1:24.48.

Meanwhile, Ski and Snowboard Club’s Fay Gulini is moving on, having finished fifth Friday in snowboardcross with a time of 1:38.01. Gulini competes in the SBX finals today at 2 p.m.
