Vail Valley Snowshoe Adventure Series starts Dec. 5
VAIL, Colorado – The Vail Valley’s Pedal Power Snowshoe Adventure Series begins its 14th season of adventure racing to benefit local charities in Eagle and Lake counties on Dec. 5 at Tennessee Pass.This season’s first race will begin and end at the Tennessee Pass Nordic Center. The Center is located at the Ski Cooper at the top of Tennessee Pass, with the course following a blend of single-track, wooded cross-country trails and panoramic open stretches. Start time is scheduled for 10 a.m.The series consists of five events held around the region, including the Colorado State Championship, as well as the qualifying race for the United States Snowshoe Association National Championships. This year’s schedule will include addition of a second Winter Triathlon, which includes snowshoeing, snow biking and skate skiing. This unique format, introduced just two years ago, has already become one the series’ most popular events.Registration for the first event is $20.
