WOLCOTT, Colorado – Golf enthusiasts can return to the fairways at Red Sky Golf Club in Colorado’s Vail Valley, which opens for both members and guests on Friday, weather permitting. Red Sky Golf Club in Wolcott is home to two award-winning 18-hole courses that were designed by Greg Norman and Tom Fazio.Red Sky’s early season rates of $195 per round are effective from opening through June 3, and guests may make tee times by calling the Guest Clubhouse Golf Shop at 970-754-8425.A private club, Red Sky Golf Club is open for play for members and members’ guests as well as guests at lodging properties including The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch; Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort & Spa; The Lodge at Vail; The Arrabelle at Vail Square; Vail Marriott Mountain Resort & Spa; The Pines Lodge; Beaver Creek Lodge; The Charter and the Sonnenalp Resort of Vail.SummerThyme Restaurant, located at the Guest Clubhouse at Red Sky Ranch, will open for guests May 21 and serve lunch.Tee times can be made one month in advance through hotel concierges or reservationists. In the fall of 2009 both courses achieved designation as Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuaries through the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses, an Audubon International program. The Fazio Course and Norman Course are the 30th and 31st courses in Colorado and the 788th and 799th in the world to receive the honor.Red Sky Golf Club also recently appointed short game specialist Larry Rinker as director of instruction for the Red Sky Golf Academy. Rinker is a 29-year PGA Tour veteran member and quarter century member of the PGA of America and has become one of the most sought-after short game coaches. The instructional facility is integrated into the design of the Tom Fazio course and features services for members and their guests as well as guests of Vail Resorts’ owned, managed or partner lodging properties. “We’re pleased to open for the summer season this Friday and with the recent precipitation, our fairways are lush and ready for play,” said Jeff Hanson, Director of Golf for Red Sky Golf Club. “The Red Sky Golf Club team is also looking forward to welcoming Larry Rinker as our director of instruction for the golf academy later this month.”
