VAIL The Vail Valley Foundation, organizers of the 2008 Honda Session snowboard invitational, recently announced this years riders list.Back for this years contect, which takes palce Feb. 8 and 9, are some of the worlds best snowboarders along with several locals.Last years rails competition winner Lucas Magoon and runner up Pat Milbery will hit the newly-designed rails course on Friday, while slopestyle winner Andreas Wiig and third-place finisher Chas Guldemond will fight once again for a portion of the $90,000 one-night prize purse on Saturday. The 2008 Session riders list is a whos who among the best pro riders in the world, said Competition Director Greg Johnson. The Slopestyles $90,000 is the highest single payout for any single event in snowboard contest history.The overall prize purse is $134,000, one of the largest cash awards in the world and a $10,000 increase from last years contest.Edwards resident Bryan Daino and several Summit County riders, including female rails rider Leslie Glenn will be competing.Making a return this year is the Swatch Ticket To Ride World Snowboard Tour (TTR). The TTR is the global governing body of the top snowboard competitions around. Riders competing on the TTR circuit accumulate points and standings are watched closely by the whos who in the snowboarding world.Course workers from the Vail Valley Foundation and Vail Resorts are partnering once again with Oregon-based terrain planners and designers Planet Snow Design to construct the four big jumps with fireballs and rail course.All events at the Honda Session are free and open to the public and for the first year ever, will be webcast live at NBC will air a one-hour feature on Feb. 17 at 12:30 p.m. For more information, visit
