VMS soccer rebounds, takes down Middle Park
GRANBY — Whatever it was, Vail Mountain School got over it.
After a flummoxing 3-0 loss to Basalt on Saturday for Homecoming, the Gore Rangers turned the page and bounced Middle Park, 4-1, on Tuesday,
“We just needed to go out and play the way we can,” VMS coach Pete Petrovski said. “Mybe we lost our confidence or were tired. I still can’t figure it out. But to go out and play our style of soccer and play well was a good sign for us.”
It’s also a good sign when you get a hat trick from Ryan Schmidt. That generally brightens everyone’s outlook. He scored VMS’ final three. Clay Kirwood got the Gore Rangers’ first.
VMS (7-4-2) wraps the regular season with its league match against Aspen on Thursday at Bandoni Alumni Field.
