There’s so much community involved and I really love spending time with the younger kids.”What’s the development of this team like?: “This team, we’ve set so many high standards for ourselves and we expect to get there. So being on one of those (state) teams my freshman year, it gave me an experience of what it feels like to be there at the state tournament. Now, we want to experience that again as seniors. We have the drive to be there.”What do you have to do to get to state?: “We’re doing a lot of mental toughness this year. It’s paid off so far and we’re hoping that it will do more.”
What’s fun about volleyball?: “It’s just such a team sport, being able to look across the net and see your opponent standing there and knowing that it’s all in your hands. It’s all you. You don’t depend on anybody else.”Position: Outside hitterWhat’s it like when you get the perfect set?: “You feel so excited. You just get that rush to know that you can put it down so easily when you have the perfect pass. You definitely feel it. So much excitement goes on. It’s such a thrill.”What’s your best moment in volleyball?: “Being with the team, really. The girls on the team are just so great, especially the seniors. We’re just so close. It’s definitely the best part.”What’s your most embarrassing moment?: “Freshman year, we went to Pizza Hut as a team and all the freshmen were sitting together and we were just making stupid little comments. I made a comment that completely embarrassed myself. I don’t remember the comment, but I remember turning bright red and wanting to go back to the van.”How excited are you for Homecoming?: “Especially senior year, I am so excited. This is your last year. This is what you wait for.”Funniest teammate: Cely BrinkmannWhat’s Mike Garvey like as a coach?: “He’s a great coach.
