Waring places 12th at Lake Placid World Cup

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – Broc Waring may be quiet and humble, but he’s making the most of some big invitations.Waring, a 14-year old snowboarder with Ski and Snowboard Club Vail, placed 12th in a World Cup halfpipe Saturday in Lake Placid, N.Y.The finish marked another jump up in the field for Waring, who earned an invite to three World Cup events earlier this year.Last month, in a pair of races in Calgary, Alberta, Waring took 23rd, then 14th. Earlier this year, Waring, who is an eighth-grader at Vail Mountain School, competed in the Honda Session.Minturn’s Dylan Bidez was 16th in Saturday’s race.
