Mining & Engineering Camp

Based out of Vail Mountain School and visiting Booth Creek and nearby local public lands, campers should be prepared to be outside all day and ready to get dirty as they explore Colorado mining history through stories and role-playing activities. Campers will become mining engineers and solve historical mining problems such as how to separate minerals from ore; how to harness energy from water; how to use pulleys to lift heavy ore buckets; how to maximize ore extraction by using different mining techniques; and how to solve new challenges as they arise.
