These popular spots have kept relatively quiet regarding their specific New Year’s Eve plans, but are nonetheless recommended stops as the ball drops.
- Vail Brewing Co.: While VBC doesn’t have anything planned in particular for New Year’s Eve, the local brewery and hangout spot (with locations in EagleVail and Vail Village) will be open on Sunday night. Typically the earliest to close in this group, you may want to start your night here before moving to other places in this list.
- Loaded Joe’s: A coffee shop and local breakfast favorite by morning turns into a nightlife hub by night in Avon. Loaded Joe’s is open from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. every day. (Have you been to karaoke night there yet?)
- Ein Prosit: Next door to Loaded Joe’s, Ein Prosit is planning to stay open through midnight on New Year’s Eve, with no cover.
- Bob’s Place: One of the best places in the valley to watch sports, Bob’s Place in Avon tends to be pretty tame on New Year’s Eve, but will be open until 2 a.m. with no cover.
- The George: We ask it all winter: “See you at The George?” Say goodbye to 2023 and hello to 2024 at The George, which will be selling tickets to manage the crowd and will be open until 2 a.m.
- Brush Creek Saloon: A downvalley favorite, the Brush Creek Saloon in Eagle is a dependable stop for late-night celebrations.
Safe rides home
Wherever your New Year’s Eve plans take you, make sure you have a plan for a safe ride home. The ECO Transit buses, in-town shuttles and Vail routes can be a good option. There are taxi services available as well as Uber and Lyft.
If you are ringing in 2024 in Avon, take advantage of Avon Transit’s free Tipsy Taxi service on New Year’s Eve, offering passengers a free ride home within town limits between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. Look for a white, 12-passenger van with the Avon logo. You can also contact the driver directly at 970-390-7848 to get a ride anywhere within town limits. Leave a message for call back as they may be pretty busy that night. More information and a list of stops is available online at Avon.org/TipsyTaxi.
