Gypsum voters elect new mayor, council members

Gypsum voters selected a new mayor and two new Town Council members on Tuesday.
Preliminary results came in late Tuesday night, showing former Town Council member Scott Green to have a substantial lead in the mayor’s race, amassing 659 votes to challengers Eileen Duke, 156, and Tina Medina, 75.
In the Town Council race, Jay Oyler, Marisa Sato and Adam Trujillo had the most votes according to the unofficial results posted at 11:06 p.m. on Tuesday. Oyler was the top vote getter with 706, Sato, the long incumbent in the Town Council race, had 512, and Adam Trujillo had 509. Cicero Da Silva recorded 225 votes, Mitchell Charles Plath had 196 and Ismenia Interiano had 159.
The new council members and mayor were elected to 4-year terms and will be sworn in at the next regular meeting of the Town Council at 7 p.m. on April 14.
