February 8, 1951 – June 7, 2024

Robert Kohrmann peacefully passed to heaven, while surrounded by his family, on June 7, 2024, at HopeWest Hospice Care in Grand Junction, CO. Bob was a man who loved the Lord as his Savior and devoted his time to church and serving in youth ministry when his children were younger. He leaves a legacy of faith in his children and grandchildren. He spoke of his faith often, encouraging others to give their hearts to the Lord.
Bob was born in Houston, TX on February 8, 1951, to Howard A. Kohrmann, Sr and Mollie Marie (Willis) Kohrmann. His family moved to Fort Collins, CO in 1968, where he graduated High School from Fort Collins High. He attended Emmaus Bible College in Oak Park, IL for a year after graduation. In 1971, he married Brenda Schoenig, also of Fort Collins. Together they had three children: Bryan, Bradley, and Bethany. They enjoyed 53 years of marriage.
Bob had a 17-year career in firefighting, beginning as a volunteer in Golden, CO, then moving to a full-time position with Loveland Fire Department in 1973. During this time, he received an associate’s degree in Fire Science from Aims Community College and was an adjunct instructor at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, MD. The family moved to Eagle, CO in 1985, where Bob was the Fire Marshal in Beaver Creek with Avon Fire Department. He was medically retired from the fire service after a line-of-duty burn accident in 1987. He then served as a Building Official for Eagle County and the Town of Eagle until retirement in 2017. Bob’s passion for firefighting lives on in his 2 sons and 1 grandson.
Bob had an enormous love of travel. He and Brenda traveled to many areas in the US, as well as visiting Europe and Mexico. They spent 6 winters in Harlingen, TX after retirement and never stopped dreaming of future adventures.
He is survived by his wife Brenda; his son Bryan (Nicole) and their 3 children, Hunter, Reece, and Terri-Ann; son Bradley; daughter Bethany (Greg) Van Wyk and their 2 children, Teagen and Tristan; his sister Sarah Lozano; his sisters-in-law Peggy and Helene; and various nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Mollie Virgina Kohrmann-Baum; his brothers Howard Arthur, Jr. and David.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 10, 2024 at Heritage Church, 2403 N. 12th Street, Grand Junction, CO 81501 at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HopeWest Hospice Care of Grand Junction, CO in memory of Robert Kohrmann.
