Casey Russell is the arts & entertainment editor at the Vail Daily. She grew up in woodsy Massachusetts and graduated from Syracuse University in 2019. She’s also written for Syracuse’s acclaimed student newspaper, The Daily Orange and Boston magazine. She’s held internships at The Whitney Museum of American Art and SXSW Pitch. During her senior year, she freelanced for Syracuse.com/The Post Standard, covering the music scene in Central New York.
She’ll write about almost anything, but her favorite stories to cover typically connect arts with the community at large. Journalism, for her, is about giving voice to those whose stories might not be shared otherwise.
In between reporting and writing stories, she loves to hike, do yoga, eat and cook vegetarian food, play guitar at an extremely novice level and make art. She’s on the hunt for a friend to be her personal ski instructor.
