Get your costume ready, or maybe a few costumes since there are so many fun events and parties to go to during Halloween ‘season’

In Eagle County, Halloween isn’t just a day, it’s a season. From trick-or-treat fun runs, flash mobs, costume parties for adults and kids, spooky season had arrived. Here’s a look at what’s happening up and down the valley over the next several days.

Friday, Oct. 24

Fall Fest & Food Drive – Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa in Avon – 4-6 p.m.

The Westin Riverfront is hosting a festive pumpkin decorating event in the lobby, with pumpkins and decorations provided. Open to all, attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable items for the Vail Valley Salvation Army. Pre-registration requested.



Halloween Bash at Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa in Avon – 6:30-11 p.m.

The Eagle County Charter Academy is hosting a costume party for the adults at its annual fundraiser. $75 per person or $140 per couple gets you dinner and one drink per person. Tickets available at ECCAHAlloweenBash.com.

Tricks for Treats – Halloween Night Out – Vail Gymnastics Center in Vail – 6-8:30 p.m.

Kids, wear your costume and join Vail Gymnastics for a Halloween-themed party while mom and dad get a Parent’s Night Out. Kids ages 5-12 will enjoy tricks for treats, open gym time, games, a costume contest, haunted house and a Halloween movie. Pizza and light snacks will be provided. The cost is $45, and preregistration is required.

Saturday, Oct. 25

Walking Mountains will once again host its Fright at the Museum at its Avon campus. This year’s theme is Up in the Air and tickets are available on the website. Buy early to save some money.

Fright at the Museum – Walking Mountains in Avon – noon to 4 p.m.

Walking Mountains blends science into every Halloween with its annual Fright at the Museum. This year’s theme is Up in the Air and activities include Fiske Planetarium shows, pilot school obstacle course, glider simulator, model airplane crafting, rocket launches, music with Bravo! Vail’s Music Makers Hacienda Musica, the Flavor Stop food truck and more. Tickets are $20/person, $25 day-of the event.

Spooky Halloween Storytime – Bookworm of Edwards – 10-11 a.m.

Get into the Halloween spirit with a special story time with spooktacular books. Costumes are encouraged at this free event.

Riverwalk Pumpkin Fest in Edwards – 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

The Riverwalk at Edwards has once again teamed up with sponsor Village Market to provide a fun autumn experience. Choose your pumpkin and benefit the Family Learning Center, then go trick-or-treating at participating Riverwalk businesses. Bring the whole family from 10 a.m. to noon.

Pumpkin Carving/Painting event – Alpine Arts Center in Edwards – 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Candy, carving and creativity will come together at this BYOP – Bring Your Own Pumpkin event. Alpine Arts center will have the tools and templates to help you create your next jack-o-lantern. The cost is $20 and carving tools and stencils available at no additional charge.

Trick-or-Trot at Mountain Valley Horse Rescue near McCoy – 1-3 p.m.

Wear your Halloween costume and head to the ranch. Collect treats along the corrals and participate in a scavenger hunt utilizing your horse knowledge. Please leave your dogs at home.

Sunday, Oct. 26

Trunk-or-Treat at Eagle River Presbyterian Church in Avon – 10:30 a.m.-noon

Everyone welcome to this free event where there will be pumpkins, games, costumes, crafts food and more.

Pumpkin Fun Run at Nottingham Park – 2-4 p.m.

This Halloween event has a fitness element. It’s a 2K run where participants are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes and bring trick-or-treat bags to collect candy on the running route. Registration includes entry to the run, carnival-themed games, face painting and one small pumpkin for the family.

Family Harvest Festival – Eagle River Center in Eagle – noon-3 p.m.

Trick-or-treating will be part of the fun at the Family Harvest Festival, which will also host an indoor market with vendors, a petting zoo, live music. Proceeds go toward supporting local, sustainable food systems throughout Eagle County.

Quadrasonic performs at Route 6 Café in Eagle-Vail – 7-10 p.m.

Quadrasonic, a new band that formed this year and offers a rockin’ sound is hosting a pre–Halloween Howl called Route 666. There will be giveaways and prizes for best costumes, so dress to impress.  

Monday, Oct. 27

Trick-or-Treat at Edwards Corner & Edwards Village Center–4-6 p.m.

Keller Williams is once again hosting trick-or-treating in the heart of Edwards. Look for participating businesses at Edwards Corner and Edwards Village Center.

Tuesday, Oct. 28

‘Thriller’ Moves & Grooves Dance Class-Athletic Club at Westin Riverfront, Avon- 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Want to get your zombie groove on? Attend a special October dance class themed around Michael Jackson’s hit song, “Thriller.” This high energy class will also include a costume contest, so dress your best.

Pumpkin Carving for Adults – Avon Public Library – 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Bring your own pumpkin or pumpkins will be provided along with caving supplies, treats and hot chocolate and apple cider. This free event is for adults ages 18 and over.

Wednesday, Oct. 29

Trick-or Treat Street in Eagle Ranch – 5-7 p.m.

Eagle Ranch merchants and supporting nonprofits and churches invite kids and their families to head to downtown Eagle Ranch for trick-or-treating, a DJ spinning tunes and the community flash mob performance of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”

Glow Flow Yoga at Athletic club at the Westin Riverfront in Avon – 7 p.m.

Get your stretch on and flow for a good cause at this special yoga class to benefit the Vail Valley Salvation Army. Vicki Balabous will lead this fun community class with glow bracelets and necklaces provided to set a festive Halloween mood.

‘Rocky Horror Show’ – Vail Valley Theatre Company – Grand Hyatt Vail – 7-10 p.m.

It’s been quite a while (15 years!) since the Vail Valley Theatre Company performed “Rocky Horror Show” but it’s back and you have many chances to be a part of this cult classic. Dress up, bring props, do the “Time Warp” and have a blast at this show. Additional performances continue throughout the weekend.

Thursday, Oct. 30

Rec-or-Treat at Mountain Recreation in Gypsum – 5-7 p.m.

Swing by the Gypsum Rec Center for Rec-or-Treat. There will be a haunted house, bounce house, dance party, story time and more. Dress up the whole family up in costumes.  

Minturn Halloween – 5 p.m. until the candy is gone

Minturn is known for hosting Halloween on Oct. 30, so get your costumes ready and come to the Town Hall for candy and photo opportunities. You can also trick-or-treat at participating businesses.

Halloween at the Minturn Saloon – 4 p.m. until close

Grab a taco before you go trick or treating with the kids at the Minturn Saloon. They will be serving dinner from 4-8 p.m. At 8:30 p.m. it’s time to party with the Johnny Schleper Revue. Your ticket gets you apps from 8:30-9:30 p.m., music from 9 p.m.-1 a.m. and there will be a costume contest.  

Country Dancing at 4 Eagle Ranch – 6-10 p.m.

Don your western wear or a Halloween costume and head to 4 Eagle Ranch for some line dancing instruction from 6-7 p.m. followed by dancing to The Eric Golden Band from 7-10 p.m. There is a cash bar and food for purchase. the price is $20 for adults, and $10 for youth 15 and under. 

Monster Mash: A Live Rock & Roll Costume Party – Route 6 Café in Eagle-Vail – 8 p.m.-2 a.m.

Get ready to rock this Halloween season with live music from Kobra Thighs, Dust Bunnies from Outer Space and 10-67. In addition to the three bands, DJ Krusher Jones will keep things rockin’ in between sets. Dress to impress for the costume contest, there will also be a raffle and no cover charge.

Friday, Oct. 31

Trick-or-Treat Trot in Vail Village & Lionshead Village – 2-5 p.m.

It’s the 33rd annual Trick-or-Treat Trot where kids can trick-or-treat in an environment without cars in Vail and Lionshead Villages. Participating merchants will have an orange jack-o-lantern leaf bag outside their front door. No registration required for this free event. Prior to trick-or-treating outside, head to the Vail Public Library for a Be-witched story time with Ms. Laurine at 1 p.m. and enjoy not-so-scary stories about Halloween witches and make some witch’s brew. Both events are free.

Halloween Party at Skipper & Scout in Vail – 1:30-6 p.m.

Join Skipper & Scout for some spooky fun with face painting, candy, raffles, contest, balloon art, shopping and more

Edwards Fright Fest – Edwards Commercial Park – 7 p.m. -12 a.m.

Get ready to be frightened! The Edwards Fright Fest is the real deal when it comes to haunted houses. Stroll through a long maze of zombies and a post-apocalyptic lab and virus outbreak. Can you survive the zombies? This event will have a DJ, a food truck and plenty of thrills get tickets online at EdwardsFrightFest.com prior to going. The haunted house will be available on Thursday through Saturday nights.

Halloween Party with Bonfire Dub at Agave in Avon – 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Fan-favorite band, Bonfire Dub will perform at Agave on Halloween. Doors open at 8 p.m. with music starting at 9 p.m. and the costume contest is at 11 p.m. with a $500 cash prize. All entrants will also be entered once in the raffle to win two VIP tickets to Winter Wondergrass in Steamboat.

Primal J & the Neanderthals at Brush Creek Saloon in Eagle – Music starts at 8:30 p.m.

Primal J & the Neanderthals are performing at Groovy Halloween Night in downtown Eagle. Wear your best costume for a chance to win prizes. Free entry, $3.50 beers and $3 shots.

Halloween at E-town in Edwards

Get spooky at E-town’s Halloween Bash. Wear your best costume and you could go home with $300 cash for 1st place. Second place wins $150 and third place wins $75, so get creative! Come for the creepy cocktails and music and stay for the fun.

Halloween at El Segundo in Vail – 8 p.m.-midnight

Tricks, treats and tequila – that’s how El Segundo celebrates Halloween. Doors open at 8 p.m. and DJ Stennor will provide the tunes. El Segundo will reward the top five costumes and there’s big prize money on the line – $1,000 for first place, which will be announced at midnight. $20 cover.

No Way Out – Halloween at Mango’s in Red Cliff – 9 p.m.-2 a.m.

Get spooky in one of Eagle County’s oldest towns that has a history of ghosts and weird, wild west tales. At the No Way Out Halloween Experience, once you enter, there’s no way out. DJ sets by Sizemo and Flaming Olive, costume (you are highly encouraged to dress up) contest with prizes, spooky décor. It’s the rave you didn’t know you needed. Tickets are $13 in advance, $20 at the door.

Halloween Party at Beyond Golf in Eagle – 7-10 p.m.

Beyond Golf will host its first ever Halloween bash with a costume contest, food and drink specials and a DJ in downtown Eagle Ranch. Come early, the golf simulators are now open.
