The Vail Valley Foundation, the nonprofit that runs Vail’s Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, announced that Jon Batiste will be taking The Amp stage Sept. 3. Jon Batiste is a genre-defying musical multi-hyphenate whose work fuses jazz, R&B, soul, pop and classical influences, creating a distinctive sound that earned him five Grammy Awards including Album of the Year for “We Are” in 2022.

Batiste’s music is characterized by a spirit of inclusivity and cross-cultural exploration, demonstrated in albums like “World Music Radio” which features collaborations with diverse artists spanning global musical traditions. Batiste, who comes from a prominent New Orleans musical dynasty, seamlessly blends his classical training with his cultural roots to create music that bridges traditional boundaries while advocating for social justice and human connection.

“We’re excited to bring the extraordinary musical talents of Jon Batiste to the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater this fall,” said Dave Dressman, vice president of the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater. “Jon has a remarkable ability to blend musical genres and create transformative live experiences. His artistry goes beyond performance — it’s a celebration of music in its most vibrant and authentic form.”
