Sometimes, the best places are just off the beaten path. Tucked away in The Hythe, just steps from Lionshead Village, Revel Lounge is a chic, cozy, casual nook with an elevated yet totally approachable menu.

This modern Swiss-inspired haven, rooted in the area’s history and heritage, offers an inviting escape for locals and visitors. Whether you’re kicking back with a cold beer, tucking into a meaty main entree, or exchanging stories of the day’s activities with your family, the Revel Lounge is a hidden gem you must visit.

With plenty of low tables and oversized leather chairs stuffed with fur and plaid pillows, the trendy bar is a modern version of a European ski lodge. Sip on a signature hand-crafted cocktail, such as the Revel Old Fashioned or the Bighorn Sour — an inventive twist on a classic bourbon drink — or explore the extensive wine list.

Beyond the bar, the spacious restaurant is bathed in natural light from the large windows on the second floor offering breathtaking mountain views. Dining is designed for comfort, with numerous booth seating options, especially along the wall of windows. If you travel with a posse, Revel Lounge has long tables and two private dining rooms to accommodate large groups.

“We wanted to build a menu where everything looks incredible so you continue returning for more.” Jason Gajan, Director of Food and Beverage at The Hythe

Axel Torres, Senior Executive Chef, crafted a menu that blends familiar favorites with creative twists. Take, for example, the dill pickle wings — soaked in vinegar pickle brine, deep-fried to crispy perfection, and served with homemade ranch dressing. Each bite bursts with the tangy punch of dill pickle.

Fresh and flavorful salads bring a taste of summer to your plate. The menu showcases the season’s best produce from a compressed watermelon salad topped with a tart yuzu passion fruit vinaigrette to a spring salad filled with fresh berries, pickled orange zest and strawberry-balsamic vinegar.

Chef Torres designs his delectable offerings around Colorado-inspired cuisine, sourcing meat and produce from local farms. “Colorado cuisine is homestyle cooking, something you want to dig into after a long day of hiking, biking or rafting. Our dishes are warm and inviting, but anything but ordinary,” explained Chef Torres. Try the tender, flaky Colorado walleye ladled with a creamy lemon and chive sauce for a lighter meal. The pan-seared half chicken with lemon and tarragon butter and fresh asparagus is another standout for summer.

While the seasonal menu changes, the Western Slope rack of lamb is a favorite year-round. Sourced from a Colorado farmer, the lamb is topped with a mint-cilantro sauce, adding brightness to the tender meat. Served with velvety rosemary grits, sauteed mushrooms and swiss chard, this dish has been a staple since Chef Torres stepped into the kitchen.

Craving something more casual? Sometimes, a sandwich just hits the spot. Favorites include the Colorado Lamb dip, overflowing with sweet caramelized onions and spicy horseradish cream, or the Hythe Smash Burger, which features two thin, crisp patties layered with cheese and all the fixings and nestled high on top of a brioche bun. Whether stopping in for dinner or just a drink after a day of activity, diners will revel in the posh surroundings of this lively space.
