On Thursday a free comedy event will take place in Edwards at The Riverwalk Theater organized by SpeakUp ReachOut. The three-screen movie theater will have multiple options for entertainment: a comedy show in English, a comedy show in Spanish and a kids movie screening.

The comedy events are produced by Vail Comedy Show, which was founded by Denver-based comedian Mark Masters in 2019. SpeakUp ReachOut was founded in 2009 and is focused on suicide prevention in Eagle County. Their website says the event Thursday will showcase comedy because “laughter is self-care and entertainment can break down stigmas surrounding mental health.”

This Thursday two headliners will visit the Vail Valley.

Comedian Sunee Dhaliwal, performing in English, is from Vancouver, Canada. “Sunee is one of Vail Comedy Show’s most requested headliners,” said Masters. Dhaliwal has performed at the Lookout Bar in Avon and the now-closed El Sabor in Lionshead in the past.

The Spanish language show will be headlined by Carlos Santos, a regular cast member in the Netflix comedy series. “Gentrified.” The Puerto Rican comedian lives in Los Angeles.
