Following a standing-room-only presentation in Steamboat Springs, leading neuroscience researcher Donald E. Moss, Ph.D., will lead a series of public lectures called, “Alzheimer’s: What Went Wrong, How to Fix It, and How to Prevent It” across Grand, Summit and Eagle counties to share pivotal developments in Alzheimer’s treatment and prevention.

Alzheimer’s and related neurodegenerative diseases affect roughly 7 million Americans and adding nearly 500,000 new patients annually not including family and loved ones. With Medicare spending $280 billion on Alzheimer’s care last fiscal year alone, the disease remains the fastest-growing segment of U.S. healthcare costs. Every day those of us over fifty wonder, “Whose next?”

Moss’ discovery, methanesulfonyl fluoride, or MSF, is an extensively tested brain-selective, central nervous system cholinesterase inhibitor. Translation:”For the first time in a quarter of a century, there is an extensively tested, brain-selective Alzheimer’s drug candidate promising improved memory, slowed progress of the disease and a path to prevention,” said Moss. MSF does these things without the debilitating side effects of current therapies. He concludes, “Alzheimer’s patients and their families need to know that help is at hand.”
