EAGLE — For the past 30 years, the United Methodist Women have been making warm, homemade chicken noodle soup to help raise funds for those in need in our local community and around the world. The annual World Famous Chicken Noodle Soup and Bazaar is at the Brush Creek Pavilion in Eagle Ranch on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
“The crowds are so much fun and some people come back year after year to enjoy the savory, homemade chicken noodle soup,” said event coordinator Barbara Meese.
The soup making starts at the Methodist church in Eagle where volunteers come together to kneed and shape the thick, fresh noodles. From there, chickens are baked and the broth is made. The combination is a simple creation that warms the soul.
A soup lunch is served at the event with a drink and choice of homemade pie.
“Soup can be purchased to-go and many people eat lunch at the bazaar and take the scrumptious soup home for dinner, too,” Meese said. “The vendors are an exciting part of the event and always happy to be involved. This event ushers in the holiday season.”
There are 28 vendors from all over Colorado who will join together to share unique creations which include handmade chef hats of all sizes, jewelry, children’s clothing, antiques, cosmetics, holiday ornaments and, new this year, organic food vendors.
“We are excited about the addition of the food vendors, now you can eat lunch, gift shop and grocery shop,” Meese said.
The bazaar is a classic event for the whole family. Children can enjoy crafts and run and play at the nearby Brush Creek Park while parents relax, sip hot coffee and debate what homemade pie they want to dig into. The soup is hearty, yet simple and made with love. Come ring in the holiday season and enjoy a delicious lunch at the Brush Creek Pavilion in Eagle.
