Land & Rivers Fund awards scholarships to two Eagle Valley High School seniors
The Land & Rivers Fund, which is made up of the Eagle Valley Land Trust and the Eagle River Coalition, announced the selection of two local high school seniors as the 2025 Land & Rivers Fund Scholarship recipients. Charlotte Blevins and Jackson Filmore, both of Eagle Valley High School, will be pursuing careers in conservation and will be receiving $2,000 each to support their studies.
Thanks to the participation of more than 25 local businesses in the program, the Land & Rivers Fund supports high school seniors in Eagle County who are furthering their education in natural resources or environmental sciences. A $1,000 scholarship was awarded for the first time in the spring of 2020 and increased in 2022 to $2,000 annually.
Charlotte Blevins is an aspiring environmental scientist dedicated to the protection and restoration of fragile ecosystems. A graduate of Eagle Valley High School, Charlotte plans to study environmental science with a minor in business at either Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana, or the University of Colorado Boulder.
Jackson Filmore is a dedicated student-athlete and aspiring environmental biologist from Eagle Valley High School with plans to attend Western Colorado University, where he will pursue a degree in environmental biology and ecology.
The work of Eagle Valley Land Trust and the Eagle River Coalition centers on the long-term protection of waterways and landscapes through conservation and the restoration of open spaces, fish and wildlife habitat, recreation opportunities, scenic vistas and natural resources.
