Elway’s steakhouse may open in Vail
VAIL, Colorado – John Elway may open a steakhouse in Vail, but it remains unclear where and when it would be.
Elway’s steakhouse would be a version of the already-successful Elway’s in the Ritz-Carlton Cherry Creek, said John Imbergamo, who handles publicity for that Elway’s.
The one in Cherry Creek is owned and operated by the Ritz-Carlton. The one in Vail would be owned by the former Denver Bronco quarterback and his companies, Imbergamo said.
“Vail is a logical place for the next Elway’s,” Imbergamo said.

They do say that they should be open by the end of this year, in an existing location. Locally, talk is putting the restaurant in a Vail Village location.
“They’re working on a deal, trying to get something done by the end of the year,” Imbergamo said. “They’re looking at a few locations. They’re definitely serious about coming to Vail.”
The negotiations involve Elway and his business partner Tim Schmidt.
“Vail has cachet,” Schmidt told the Denver Post. “Vail is as accessible as you can get for Denver and the world. If you go farther out, other ski towns are harder to get to.”
