February 27, 1983 – June 22, 2025
“Adam Gerase Richard Gilmer, 42, tragically left us on June 22nd, 2025, in a bike accident in Edwards, CO. Born in Denver on February 27th, 1983, and raised in Evergreen, CO, bringing instant joy to his parents, Todd and Mary. Adam graduated from Conifer High in 2001. Adam’s love for art eventually led him to CU Boulder, where he received a Bachelor’s of Environmental Design with an Emphasis in Architecture. His love for the mountains eventually led him to Vail in 2005, where he began his career working with Berglund Architects, and his unwavering talent allowed him to become a Principal Architect at the Firm.

Adam met his beautiful wife, Krissy, in 2007, and they married on July 2nd, 2016, at the Sonnenalp Golf Club. They continued making memories at the Club, where they spent a lot of their time over the years growing their golf game and making lifelong friends on the course and at the pool. Sharing their love for adventure and travel, Adam and Krissy explored and always filled their life with unforgettable experiences from Iceland to Italy, and the Galápagos Islands; they never turned down an opportunity to travel with friends who became family. In 2018, their lives were forever changed with the birth of their sweet son AJ. Becoming a father was Adam’s greatest joy and accomplishment. Adam and AJ shared a beautiful bond that will live within AJ forever. They made many great memories together, swimming, golfing, playing T-Ball, and camping.

Adam was a strong and joyful soul who loved his family, friends, and life. He was a devoted friend, father, and husband. If there was a party, ski day, or trip, Adam was there. If you were in a pinch and needed help, he would show up for you. Adam always lived life to the fullest and accomplished many feats in the short time we were blessed to have him on this earth. He loved the recreational opportunities living in the Vail Valley had to offer, including skiing, backpacking, hiking, fishing, Heli skiing, hunting, and golfing — recently becoming a member of the “Hole-In-One” club on Hole #5. He is survived by his beloved wife, Krissy, their son Adam “AJ” Alexander Gilmer Jr., parents, Todd and Mary Gilmer, brother Geoffrey, sisters Gianna and Gloria, Uncle Richard Beaudette, Aunt Donna Huberty, Aunt Lynn and Uncle Jim Spieker, and many cousins. Adam is preceded in death by his brother, Alexander Howard Gilmer, in 2010, his grandfather, Richard Beaudette, and both sets of grandparents. ”

A celebration of life will be at 12:30 PM Saturday, June 28th, at the Singletree Community Center located at 1010 Berry Creek Rd. Edwards, CO 81632.
