CHRISTINA VICTORIA MASTROGIOVANNI, 75 years old, of Eagle, Colorado passed away on November 13, 2024 after succumbing to ALS.
VICTORIA, as she was known in the Vail Valley, migrated from Los Angeles in April 1994. She had worked in the record industry in the heyday of the Rock ‘n’ Roll era in the late ’70’s – 1989 at A&M Records in Hollywood and Paris, as well as CBS International in Europe. Returning to Los Angeles fluent in French and Italian, Victoria landed an executive assistant position at Princess Cruises, until she moved to Vail. She built a significant presence in the Vail Valley, first as the Executive Assistant to George Gillett, Jr. of Vail Associates. After a few years, at the age of 50, she furthered her education, pursuing her dream to become an esthetician. She was at the prestigious Allegria Spa (later known as Exhale) at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek for over 18 years, with part of that time as their Head Esthetician.
She also joined the lively and beautiful Sweetwater Saloon Girls, performing in special venues in Vail and Aspen. They were featured in the “Vail Undressed” 2002 Calendar which benefited the Vail Valley Charitable Fund. Always one who explored new adventures, Victoria later studied Tai Chi. When she retired from the Spa business, she immersed herself in the practice and taught private classes, as well as being a substitute teacher at the Gypsum Recreation Center until her ALS diagnosis in January of 2024.
Victoria was predeceased by her parents, Magda and Frank (Monte) Mastrogiovanni. She is survived by her brother Greg, and cousins, Regina, Michael and Jeffrey.
A lei memorial ceremony will take place in Maui at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to ALS or an organization of your choice.
