Obituary: Ted Neilson

Ted, a longtime resident of Edwards, has been called home. Faith and family were always a first for Ted. Ted was born in California. As a child, he loved sailing to Catalina Island and riding his bike through the orange groves to the beach to surf. In 1993, he and his friends decided to come to Vail. Ted spent many years building in the Vail Valley as he was most comfortable with a saw and hammer in hand. In 1994, at a Christmas party, he met his wife and they began their life together filled with love and laughter while raising their two children. In the summer, Ted could be found at the pool. Ted was a dedicated and proud father as well as a loving husband. He was patient, kind and filled each day with love. He is survived by his wife of 30 years Jennifer, and his two children, TJ and Alyson; his sisters Kathie (Gary) Neilson and Janet Neilson; many nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his parents Harry and Darlene Neilson and sister Elizabeth Kuhn.
Celebrate Ted’s life on May 9th at 10:30am at the New Life Assembly of God in Avon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the New Life Assembly of God and the American Heart Association.
