Timothy “Tim” Michael Kelley died peacefully in Denver, Colorado on August 25, 2024, at the age of 82.
Tim is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; his daughters, Aline and Alexia; his grandchildren, Kyle and Noelle; his sons-in-law, Geoffrey and Josh; and his brothers, Patrick and Michael. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Bette; and his brother, Rob.
Tim was born on June 12, 1942, in Lakewood, OH to Bob and Bette Kelley, and spent his childhood in Los Angeles, California. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1964 with a degree in economics. Through serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Peru, Tim developed a passion for traveling around the world. Tim completed his masters of business administration from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1968, after which he began his career in global banking with Citibank, N.A.
Tim met the love of his life, Barbara, on a blind date during his first overseas assignment in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. They were married in 1970, and together they traveled the world, living in 8 different countries. During this time, Tim and Barbara welcomed their two daughters, Aline and Alexia into the world, and together, the family had many fantastic adventures.
Tim and Barbara eventually retired to Beaver Creek, Colorado, where they lived for 24 years until recently moving to Denver, Colorado. While they made numerous friends and loved their times in the Rockies, they continued to explore many different countries and cultures. It was in Colorado where Tim discovered his passion for fly-fishing, which led to many exciting fishing adventures across the globe.
Above all else, Tim’s greatest love was his family. He will be remembered by his family as the most wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, who wanted nothing more than for his family to thrive and be happy. He was an incredibly generous and caring person.
A celebration of life will be scheduled in the future. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Tim’s honor to the Round Up River Ranch at https://roundupriverranch.org/support-us/donate-now/.
