Vail Daily letter: A distinction

Bill Stephenson
Cordillera, CO Colorado

There has been a lot of news over the past year on the issues that exist between the owners and members of the Club at Cordillera. I think there is an important distinction to be made between the Club at Cordillera and the community of Cordillera.

One can live in and enjoy the community of Cordillera without belonging to the club. In fact, around 50 percent of our residents are not members of the club. They made their decision to live in Cordillera because of the special nature of the place where one can enjoy the peace and quiet of the mountains, the abundant diversity of wildlife and have the ability to make new friends and acquaintances from all over the world.

In addition to the fantastic vistas surrounding many of the Cordillera communities, there are also wonderful amenities at Cordillera that we all share such as the Equestrian Center, many walking and riding trails, dog parks, ice skating and sledding venues in the winter and a variety of community activities that go on throughout the year, all of which have nothing to do with the club.

Cordillera residents are determined to see that our community remains a unique and wonderful place to live despite the issues that currently prevail regarding the Club at Cordillera.
