With Timber Ridge Village, many more locals are calling the town of Vail home
Thanks to a public-private partnership between the town of Vail and Triumph Development West, 302 units are being offered to help supply the workforce with housing
How would you like your address to be in Vail? Home ownership in the town of Vail is being made possible for more of the Vail Valley’s workforce due to a public-private partnership at Timber Ridge Village. These energy-efficient homes come in a variety of sizes, from studios to one-, two-, three-and four-bedroom residences. There are also common areas for gatherings, rooftop decks, bike storage, a parking garage and a bus stop to give people more access to places without a car.
People are already moving into the first of seven buildings set on the former Timber Ridge site.
“We’re excited about the progress,” said Michael O’Connor of Triumph Development West. “We’ve closed dozens of homes in the Alpine Building, and we’re on schedule to have the certificate of occupancy on the second building late April. All buildings have gone vertical with the project scheduled to be complete this year.”
The need for workforce housing in the community is high, as it is in most resort mountain towns, O’Connor said. With Timber Ridge Village being in the heart of Vail, it provides easy access to work and all the world-class amenities Vail has to offer. So, how do you get into one of these places?
“A business, investor or individual can purchase a unit, and the property must be occupied by at least one qualified occupant,” O’Connor said. “A qualified occupant means an individual who works an average of 30 hours or more per week at a business in Eagle County.”

The feedback so far has been positive. Many buyers have expressed excitement about the location, flexible deed restriction with no price-appreciation caps and noise control from the quality of construction.
“The roof-top decks have some of the best views in the Vail Valley,” O’Connor said.
