Avanti Food & Beverage Vail may be the new kid on the block, but it’s quickly making a name for itself. The modern-day food hall opened in the former Larkspur restaurant space at the Golden Peak base area lodge last December. It has five food concepts under one roof, an indoor and outdoor bar and a large patio with views of Vail Mountain.
“Our first winter in Vail went very well. I think everything we heard from, especially the locals, was, ‘Oh, my gosh, we needed this. Vail needed a place like Avanti,” said Travis Christ, director of operations for Avanti F&B Vail. “Everybody seems really excited that we’re here with some different options and we’re an easy and accessible place for people to go. We’re excited to see what summer brings.”
Summer is bringing new menu items for some of the food concepts at Avanti. Detoor is a day café and après brasserie and its seasonal menu has added sandwiches, wraps and salads in addition to its coffee and tea drinks. And don’t worry, they still have fresh oysters on the menu.
Backyard Burgers added a summer BLT, a hot honey chicken sandwich and burnt end mac and cheese. Powder Crust Pizza has created some new and exciting pizzas on the menu for summer, including a pesto pie and buffalo chicken pizza, as well as fresh salads.
Boychik is sticking with its same menu as winter since their Mediterranean-style food is great during any season. Glo is also keeping its ramen and sushi, but it did change up its Omakase offerings, going from nine to 12 courses for the summer and made the menu more summer-forward.

Come for the variety of offerings but stay for the atmosphere and activities. Avanti F&B Vail has something going on every day of the week and sometimes has more than one event happening on the same day.
Cue the volleyball scene from “Top Gun.” It may not be beach volleyball, but Avanti F&B Vail is hosting doubles volleyball on the lawn starting at 5:30 p.m. on Mondays.
“Whether you’re playing to win or just for fun, it’s the perfect way to spike your summer evenings. Grab a drink, gather your crew, and hit the lawn,” said Hayley Edmisten, director of marketing for Avanti Vail. “We’re doing this with the Vail Recreation District and it’s an eight-week season. At the end of the season, we’ll have a fun end-of-season party where we’ll give out some prizes to the top team.”
With the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater not far from Avanti, it’s sure to be a great stop before or after a concert. Avant has partnered up with The Amp to be the official pre- and post-party hosts of the Bulleit Hot Summer Nights concerts.
“This will be a convenient place for everyone to come and pregame before a show. You can park at Avanti for free, get some food and drinks, and then get a ride in our golf cart over to The Amp. Then, we’ll bring you back and you can either grab a bite or hop in your car and be on your way,” Edmisten said.

In addition to the pre- and post-parties on Tuesdays, Avanti Vail is also offering group mountain bike rides at 5:30 p.m.
“Hit the trails, then hit the bar!” Edmisten said. “These rides will be led by Avanti’s bar manager, Jake Marasco. He’ll take fellow bikers through Vail’s scenic routes and head back to Avanti for exclusive drink specials just for riders.”
On Wednesdays, test your knowledge with Smarty Party Trivia Night with Vail Trivia at 7 p.m.
“Enjoy drink specials and a wild mix of prizes — some awesome, some OK, and some… well, you’ll just have to see for yourself,” Edmisten said.
Since Avanti has access to a spacious lawn, they are bringing out a 30-foot inflatable screen and hosting movies on the lawn every Thursday at dusk. Bring your lawn chair and blanket and Avanti will supply the popcorn and you can order drinks from the outdoor bar.

Fridays mean F.A.C. — Friday Afternoon Club — at Avanti, so get your weekend started at 3-6 p.m. with live music and cheap drinks and great mountain views. This is especially good if you have a large group. No reservations are necessary, and you can all order from the restaurant of your choice. The music schedule will switch between two local artists, Matt Garth and Dave Perron.
“We’ll have drink specials from Hampton Water and Suerte Tequila and specials on rosé and margaritas,” Edmisten said.
Also on Fridays, get ready for some Japanese cuisine with Glo’s Omakase dinner that can be paired with a special sake tasting menu.
“Glo’s Omakase is a laid-back, intimate way to explore Japanese cuisine, one bite at a time,” Edmisten said. “Featuring 12 courses of delicate sashimi, creative hot dishes and rotating favorites like wagyu and uni. Limited seating keeps it cozy, personal and perfect for slowing down and enjoying something special.”
On Saturdays, Edmisten said that they don’t have a set event simply because they want to be flexible to offer custom events if they arise. For example, last week, Avanti hosted the Vail Craft Beer Festival After-Party on Saturday. On Sundays, there are events in the morning and the evening.
“It’s namaste and then rosé and brunch. Start your Sunday strong with free vinyasa yoga on the lawn from 10-11a.m. led by Brianna Houston,” Edmisten said. “Flow through your morning with mountain views and good energy, then roll inside for all the post-yoga fuel you need.”
Every Sunday is Latin Night from 7- 9 p.m., with live Latin music by local musician Diego Espinosa and cocktails and food.
“Whether you’re here to dance your heart out, sip some drinks, or just enjoy the music, this is your weekly excuse to let loose,” Edmisten said.
Once again, Avanti F&B Vail may be the new kid on the block as far as new businesses in Vail, but with such a variety of events and activities practically every day of the week and a wide array of food and drink choices to choose from, it will become an old, familiar friend before you know it.
