The Vail Valley Foundation recently announced two new additions to the Vilar Performing Arts Center’s summer lineup. The Vilar will host acclaimed comedians Paula Poundstone and David Cross this summer, continuing the momentum of a winter season that featured comedy giants like Jerry Seinfeld, Kevin Nealon, and Brian Regan.

Paula Poundstone, known for her razor-sharp wit and intellectual observational humor, has earned acclaim through her appearances on NPR’s “Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me!” and her ability to connect with sophisticated audiences through clever, thought-provoking comedy. She will bring her signature comedic timing to the Vilar stage on July 19.

David Cross, an Emmy Award-winning comedian, actor, and writer recognized for his work on “Arrested Development” and “Mr. Show with Bob and David,” appeals to discerning comedy fans who appreciate smart, satirical humor. He will take the stage on August 14. Both comedy sets are best suited for mature audiences ages 18+.

“Comedy has become a cornerstone of the Vilar experience. This summer, Paula Poundstone and David Cross join a roster of legendary comedians who’ve played the Vilar: Robin Williams, Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno, Wanda Sykes and more – the list goes on.” said Cameron Morgan, Executive Director of the Vilar Performing Arts Center. “We are committed to bringing top-tier comedic talent to our venue, and what’s truly special about experiencing comedy at the Vilar is that audiences feel like they’re sitting right alongside the performer in an intimate club setting. Combined with our recent facility enhancements, audiences can expect an exceptional experience.”

Fans attending shows this summer will also benefit from recent facility upgrades, including a reimagined upper lobby bar and a new coat check room, while artists will enjoy renovated green rooms and dressing rooms, all part of a multi-year investment plan to enhance the patron and artist experience.
