The new year may be just starting, but The Vail Valley Theatre Company has already released its full schedule for 2026. The Vail Valley nonprofit that’s been around since 1987 just listed its productions, tryouts, drop-in dance classes, improv nights, theatrical dance classes and more and is inviting you to join them.

“The Vail Valley Theatre Company is gearing up for its biggest season in its nearly 40-year history with seven productions and monthly community programs,” said Beth Kuntz of the Vail Valley Theatre Company.

From the Tony Award-winning musical “Rent” to a spooky season production of Agatha Christie’s “Murder on the Orient Express,” and a reader’s theater version of the holiday classic “A Christmas Carol,” the Vail Valley Theatre Company is excited to share these arts-based experiences.

“The arts are a vital part of any healthy community. There are many wonderful sports-oriented programs in the Vail Valley, but affordable arts-based experiences are harder to come by especially for adults. The Vail Valley Theatre Company wants to fill that niche. Our goal is to have as many opportunities as possible for people to become involved, as audience members, performers or behind the scenes,” Kuntz said.

This is one of the most ambitious seasons in the Vail Valley Theatre Company’s nearly 40-year history, and we couldn’t be more excited,” said Connie Kincaid, president of the Vail Valley Theatre Company. “This lineup reflects the incredible talent and creativity that exists in our community. Whether you’re interested in performing, working backstage, or simply enjoying the shows, there’s a place for you in the Vail Valley Theatre Company.”

“Grand Hyatt Vail is one of our biggest supporters and we are proud to be partnering with them to produce most of our 2026 season at the Cascade Theater,” Kuntz said.

Anyone interested in performing is invited to an open casting call for the 2026 The Vail Valley Theatre Company season on Feb. 7 from 4–7 p.m. at Eagle River Presbyterian Church. Video auditions will also be accepted and may be emailed to info@vailtheatre.org.

“We are opening auditions statewide which increases both performing opportunities and our talent pool, so it’s a win-win,” Kuntz said. “Our talented casts are all 100% volunteer and yet we strive to produce shows that are as high quality as you’ll see at a professional theater. It is amazing to see the level of talent in our small valley and many of our surrounding mountain towns.”
