Lindsay Hardy, Gary Brooks and Kevin Hyatt look poised to claim seats on the Avon Town Council according to unofficial results Tuesday night.
Results as of 9 p.m. show Hardy leading with 1,063 votes, followed by Brooks with 962 votes and Hyatt with 838 votes.
Calyn Rieger is in fourth with 555 votes. So far in Avon, 3,418 votes have been counted with 68% voter turnout countywide as of 9 p.m.
Hardy is the only incumbent in the field, with Brooks, Hyatt and Rieger all seeking a first term on the council. Rieger ran for a seat on Avon Town Council in 2022 but was not elected. All those elected will serve four-year terms.
Tuesday night’s Town Council race results were “what I was hoping for, but nervous about,” Hardy said in a phone interview with the Vail Daily on Tuesday night.

In her next term on council, “I look forward to continuing supporting, encouraging and uplifting our diverse group of residents in Avon, and I look forward to continuing the open dialogue with our community,” Hardy said. “My goal has always been to make Avon a better place to live, work and play, and I think I currently reside with a great council of people that want that for our community, and I’m excited about the future collaboration of our new council members to continue that.”
Mayor Amy Phillips could not run for reelection due to term limit rules, and Council member R.J. Andrade opted not to seek reelection.
The Town Council will internally elect a mayor and mayor pro tem from among the seven council members when the new council is sworn in. The appointed mayor and mayor pro tem will each serve a two-year term.
