Nestled in the heart of the Rockies, Beaver Creek has long been synonymous with luxury skiing, elevated après experiences, and an intimate alpine village atmosphere. This winter, a new tradition has taken root, offering a fresh perspective on après-ski culture: Pop Up Après—a monthly culinary event designed to delight the senses and showcase the best of Beaver Creek’s dining and retail scene.

On the first Thursday of each month, the village transforms into a tapestry of flavors, music, and community connection. Guests meander through charming boutiques and art galleries while indulging in expertly crafted small bites, courtesy of Michelin-recognized restaurants and beloved local eateries.

A Concept Born from Success

First introduced in 2023 as part of the Winter Culinary Event, Pop Up Après quickly garnered enthusiasm from visitors and business owners. What began as a small initiative to bring guests into the village has flourished into a highly anticipated series, seamlessly blending Beaver Creek’s sophisticated après culture with a spirit of discovery.

“Businesses in the village loved the additional visitors, and the restaurants appreciated the opportunity to showcase their offerings,” Director of Events for Beaver Creek Krista DeHerrera explained. “It was a win-win that naturally evolved into a season-long experience.”

Beyond the Slopes: An Après Experience Like No Other

Beaver Creek’s après-ski tradition is renowned for striking the perfect balance between relaxation and celebration. Pop Up Après enhances that experience, offering guests more than just a drink by the fire. Instead, it extends an invitation to explore—a journey through culinary artistry and refined retail, all set to the backdrop of live music.

“Après is about more than just food and drinks,” DeHerrera notes. “It’s about community and culture. Guests share the experience of sampling unique flavors, discovering hidden gems in our boutiques, and connecting with loved ones in an intimate alpine setting.”

Each event is carefully curated with a distinct theme, adding an element of surprise and delight:

  • February 6: Sweet Indulgence – A celebration of confections, from delicate pastries to rich, decadent desserts.
  • March 6: Comfort Food Creations – Hearty, warming dishes designed to embrace the cozy spirit of late winter.
  • April 3: Spring Fling Delights – Bright, seasonal flavors paired with inspired craft cocktails to welcome spring’s arrival.

Immersive Flavors and Live Entertainment

The magic of Pop Up Après lies not just in the tastings but in the energy it brings to the village. Live performances set the tone for each gathering, with carefully curated bands enhancing the atmosphere. February’s event saw the lively sounds of The Gandy Dancers, while March will bring The Mixx, a band known for nostalgic ’80s and ’90s hits. April’s finale will feature Dear Marsha, a crowd favorite from last summer’s Colorado Showcase Music Series.

In addition to musical entertainment, the event highlights some of Beaver Creek’s most beloved establishments. Visitors can explore C. Anthony Art Gallery, where fine art blends seamlessly with the après atmosphere, or browse the luxurious selection at Eye Pieces, offering the latest in high-end eyewear. For those looking to take home a tangible memory of their visit, Maya Walker Jewelry presents handcrafted pieces that capture the spirit of the Rockies.

And of course, the culinary scene takes center stage. Among the participating restaurants, Splendido at the Chateau impresses with refined European-inspired dishes, while Alpine & Antlers provides hearty mountain fare with a modern twist. Meanwhile, guests can discover inventive small plates from Hooked, known for its fresh seafood and creative presentations.

A Seasonal Send-Off Not to Miss

As ski season begins its gradual transition to spring, Pop Up Après offers a final chance to embrace the mountain lifestyle at its finest. Whether it’s the indulgence of February’s sweets, the comfort of March’s hearty bites, or the effervescent celebration of April’s Spring Fling, each event presents a unique opportunity to savor the flavors of Beaver Creek.

And for those torn between which event to attend? “You really can’t go wrong,” DeHerrera says. “Each one is designed to bring something special to the table—quite literally.”

With thoughtfully curated menus, dynamic entertainment, and a setting unlike any other, Pop Up Après is redefining what it means to unwind after a day on the slopes. Make a reservation at your favorite Beaver Creek dining destination, or simply follow the energy of the village—where indulgence, connection, and discovery await.
