BEAVER CREEK — The eighth annual Beaver Creek Wine & Spirits Festival takes place Friday through Sunday, presented by Wine Spectator Magazine. Signature events with top international and regional wines, spirits and culinary hosts will return, including Manhattans in the Mountains and the Walk-Around Grand Tasting. New events include Tacos & Tequila Pairing, Premium Port & Cheese Pairing, Hooked on Sushi & Sake and the “Dive In” Deep Eddy Vodka Experience.
“The Beaver Creek Wine & Spirits Festival has become one of Colorado’s premier wine events featuring local chefs and impeccable wines and spirits. We’re excited to add a number of new components to our incredible weekend schedule,” said Tim Baker, executive director of Beaver Creek Resort Co.
For three days, the festival offers an eclectic selection of experiences, beginning with Manhattans in the Mountains on Friday, sponsored by Maker’s Mark, where guests will learn about the history and taste four expressions of the handmade premium Kentucky bourbon whiskey. On the same evening, a special fundraising dinner at Splendido at the Chateau benefits the Vail Valley’s Bright Future Foundation and features a spectacular four-course dinner, paired with exceptional wines. On Saturday, the new Tacos & Tequila event guides guests through signature street taco dishes, Herradura Tequila and cocktails.
Saturday continues with two new events in the village, the Premium Port and Cheese Pairing in the By Nature Gallery and Hooked on Sushi & Sake at Hooked restaurant, showcasing tips and techniques for the chef’s dishes while paired with the perfect sake. The Walk-Around Grand Tasting on Saturday night celebrates delectable wine, spirits and gourmet cuisine.
On Sunday the Four X Fun High Mountain Adventure Tour lets attendees take a scenic chairlift ride followed by a Jeep tour of the mountain and culminates with wine samplings and a picnic lunch. The list of drink sponsors include Maker’s Mark, Capture & Notre Vin Wines, Trinchero Family Estates, Zonin Wines, Premium Port, Deep Eddy Vodka, Canyon Wind and Peach Street Distillers. Tickets to each event can be purchased online at http://www.beavercreek.com/wine.
