Ben Harper and Govt Mule headline Spring Back to Vail

Special to the DailySouthern rock and jam-band flare come together when Govt Mule plays the Dobson Ice Arena in Vail on April 10. Former members of the Allman Brothers Band started Govt Mule as a side project but it quickly took off and is now a staple on the music festival circuit.

VAIL, Colorado Spring Back to Vail, the high-energy, end-of-season bash returns April 7-13 with headlining concerts from Ben Harper and Govt Mule. Govt Mule will appear at the Dobson Arena on April 10 and Ben Harper will play an outdoor concert in Ford Park on April 12.

Harper, backed by his band The Innocent Criminals, specializes in a socially conscious blend of blues, funk, reggae, R&B and folk that has earned him a legion of fans. Govt Mule, formed in 1994 as a side project of the Allman Brothers Band, is a southern-rock-style jam band that has become a staple at music festivals across the country. Like many jam bands, Govt Mule did not build its broad fan base through radio play, but through extensive touring and great stage presence.
