Wednesday marks the 15th anniversary of Campo de Fiori in Vail. Campo opened in 1997 to much fanfare and, due to its dedication to the town of Vail and the local community, has established itself as a local institution.
Owner Elizabeth Plotke and Luigi Giordani, along with chef-partner Simone Reatti and general manager Mira Hozzova, are throwing a celebration party Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. to thank their loyal guests for so many years.
The original Campo de Fiori was opened in Aspen in 1994 by Luigi and Elizabeth. Their love of Colorado, its mountains and communities made Vail the next natural location to open Campo three years later.
“In that time, we have had such incredible people working in the dining room and kitchen. There is a harmony, joy and energy you feel as soon as you walk inside,” Plotke said. “I believe that, combined with wonderful Italian food, has been the key ingredients of our success.”
Campo also will be open for reservations that evening.
