Carving Coolio follows turns with rap show
VAIL – Picture Coolio, notorious hip-hop icon, carving his way down the slopes of Vail with a long, spontaneous entourage of awestruck tourists and locals. As part of an exclusive snowboarding tour, the hip-hop artist Coolio will perform at 8150 in Vail Wednesday.”I guess he’s like the Pied Piper on the slopes,” said Crawford Byers, entertainment promoter for 8150. “He’s here to snowboard.”
Other stops on Coolio’s tour include Breckenridge and Jackson Hole, Wyo. As far as his skills on a snowboard, those on the slopes today will just have to keep an eye out for him and see for themselves.”I heard he’s pretty good,” Byers said. “The whole thing with this tour is, he wants to snowboard.”
Evidently, the rapper does nothing in the effort of going incognito on the hill.”When he’s on the mountain, he looks like Coolio,” Byers said. “Everyone is just like, ‘There he is, it’s Coolio!’ People just start following him around.
Coolio performs Wednesday at 8150 in Vail Village. Tickets are $15.Staff Writer Shauna Farnell can be reached at (970) 949-0555, ext. 610, or firstname.lastname@example.org.Vail, Colorado
