Colorado man indicted for string of robberies

TUCSON, Ariz. – A federal grand jury in Tucson has returned a six-count indictment against a Westminster, Colo., man charging him with bank robbery.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office said 39-year-old Raul A. Gallegos was arrested May 11.
A federal grand jury handed down an indictment June 9 that contained charges against him for five bank robberies and one attempted bank robbery.
The indictment alleges that between Dec. 30 and April 27, the Denver-area man committed four bank robberies in Tucson and one bank robbery in Marana, in addition to attempting to rob the same Marana-area bank a second time.
Gallegos remains in federal custody and is set for an arraignment on June 24.
