Created by Chef-Owner Jesús del Toro, the upscale, contemporary Mexican restaurant is influenced by several regions throughout Mexico, with special attention to his native Mazatlán, on the coast. Appetizers get right to the point, with queso fundido, coctel de camaron and ribeye strip steak agua chile. On the entrée side, elevated tacos, several seafood options and dishes like chicken en mole, braised pork shank and the all-star Molcajete Campechano offer feisty flavors. Key to Del Toro’s identity is the cocktail program, which is mezcal-forward and created with freshly squeezed juices and inventive combinations. And while the food and drinks are truly excellent, it’s the winning combination of the friendly staff and the mountain-modern dining room that makes Del Toro a step above.
