The Eagle County School District has hired long-time educator Erin Street to be the next principal of Eagle Valley Elementary School. Most recently, Street was the assistant principal and athletic director at Eagle Valley Middle School.

“My belief in collaboration, relationship building, love of learning, and deep passion for our community will help me to lead the EVES team into the future and I couldn’t be more excited to take this next step in my career,” Street said in a news release.

Street has over 20 years of experience in public education. Before joining the Eagle County School District, she was an educator for almost 15 years, including four years as an assistant principal in the Woodland Park School District outside of Colorado Springs.

Street received a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and Political Theory from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. She also holds a principal licensure from Western State University.

“Erin’s passion for public education, her connection with the community, and desire to make sure all students reach their full potential were evident in her interviews,” said Phil Qualman, Eagle County School District superintendent. “We are fortunate to have her already in our system, and I’m confident she will facilitate a smooth transition from the expert leadership of (outgoing principal) Michele Miller.”
