VAIL — The EC Twins will perform on New Year’s Eve at Mid-Vail on Vail Mountain as part of Decimo, a nightclub-style event that Vail Resorts started last year. For $300, you can ring in the New Year on a dance floor located at Mid Vail with entertainment, VIP tables and bottle service. There are also “Champagne Tables” available for $10,000 (gratuity not included), with premium views of the stage, six tickets, two bottles of champagne, two bottles of vodka, two 6-packs of Red Bull, two 6-packs of Aquafina water, one 6-pack of Stella Artois, party favors and a designated server.
“Following the incredible success of Decimo’s debut at Vail last year, we knew it would be critical to secure the best entertainment for this year’s events in order to continue to build upon the momentum from last year and appeal to our guests from around the world,” said Chris Jarnot, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Vail Mountain. “We’re thrilled to announce the EC Twins for Decimo’s debut on New Year’s Eve this season and we’re looking forward to making this event even bigger and better than ever.”
Born and raised in the musically historic city of Manchester, England, the EC Twins — Marc and Allister Blackham — began their career in the house music scene in Edinburgh, Scotland, at age 16. The men are credited as two of the most influential figures in electronic dance music. Known for their uniquely infectious, high-energy live shows, the twins hold residences in every major city around the country and have performed at many international festivals and iconic venues across the globe. Now they will add Vail Mountain’s Decimo to the list on New Year’s Eve.
Each unique Decimo event (there are six slated for the season) begins at the base of Gondola One in Vail Village. From there, guests are carried to mid-mountain in the gondola’s cabins, complete with heated seats and Wi-Fi access. Just steps away from the top of the gondola, guests will enter a space that has undergone a carefully orchestrated transformation into the chic, dynamic nightspot that is Decimo.
The remaining acts and entertainment for Decimo will be announced soon. For information on Decimo events for the 2014-15 winter season, ticketing and VIP package details, visit http://www.decimovail.com or call 970-754-2466.
