Gallegos Corp. earns award for Arrabelle at Vail Square work
EAGLE COUNTY ” The Gallegos Corp. recently won the Excellence in Construction Quality award from the Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industry, Colorado Chapter, for its plaster and stucco work on the Arrabelle at Vail Square.
Geoff Soelter, the plaster and stucco manager for the company, said the award is especially rewarding because of the difficulties in such a large project.
“We had severe weather constraints last winter,” Soelter said. “It is a very compact location, and there were many trades to coordinate with to ensure we all met the tight and demanding schedule. We all worked together to keep the crew’s morale positive and have the project move along.”
The stucco finishes that helped The Gallegos Corp. capture this award ranged from simple to complex and were done in 26 colors. The interior plaster is colored diamond plaster, with the restaurant’s cathedral ceilings finished in Venetian plaster.
Founded in 1970 by Gerald G. Gallegos as a specialty stone-masonry company, the company has offices in the Vail Valley; Denver; Telluride; Aspen; Sun Valley, Idaho; Lake Tahoe, Calif.; and Bozeman, Mont.
