Grand Junction: Lots of 9/9/09 babies, but one came at 9:09 a.m.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colorado – Lots of babies will be able to celebrate being born on a date full of nines, but Alexander Robert Orient can celebrate being born at 9:09 a.m. on 9/9/09.

He was delivered by Caesarean section at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction.

Deana Orient says she went into labor at 4:45 a.m. Wednesday and didn’t realize the date until she saw it on her hospital bracelet.

Minutes after Alexander was born, hospital workers told Deana and her husband, Patrick, the time of birth.

And although he was born 21/2 weeks premature, there have been no jokes about the Orients’ second child being on the Orient express. Yet.
