The impacts of growth
Federal and state grants and developmental impact fees.
Observe the traffic trends and understand how they apply to future growth. It is not Gypsum’s responsibility to assist Eagle with traffic problems; however it does make sense to do so. Traffic /transportation issues are regional.
Support sustainable development with variable housing types from entry level to multi million dollar second homes. Preserve existing agricultural land uses. Provide access to Gypsum Creek and the Eagle River.
Gypsum needs to establish a town center. Growth provided a first rate recreational facility and new shopping opportunities. Growth is the business of Gypsum.
Gypsum has a location that can sustain regional retail opportunities. We should take advantage of this and promote additional growth of this type. Traffic is a concern.
Gypsum should be cautious. Gypsum has the least expensive land costs for this type of residential use. We need to make sure that all the impacts are accounted for properly.
