EAGLE-VAIL — A Colorado native is Vail Christian Academy’s new headmaster.

Clint Holden comes to the local Christian school with more than two decades of experience leading Christian schools across the country.

“It will be my goal to guard, promote and direct VCA to be a school of choice in the Eagle Valley because of its commitment to Christ, its value of family and its dedication to academia,” Holden said.

Holden graduated from Columbine High School in Littleton.

After leaving the Denver area in 2001, he and his family lived in Wisconsin most of the last 12 years.

An experienced leader

He has served schools in Ohio, Florida, Wisconsin and Colorado as head of school, principal and development director. Holden was one of the founders and first administrator of Front Range Christian School in Littleton. During his tenure, the school grew from 36 kids to more than 400 in seven years.

“I was drawn to VCA because of the opportunity to serve the Lord in this wonderful school, helping carry on already strong traditions by providing a compelling vision for the future, and unifying, growing and energizing the entire school community,” Holden said. “My wife and I fell in love with Edwards and the surrounding areas and the many folks we met at the school. We are excited to once again call Colorado home.”

Holden’s education

Holden earned a Bachelor of Arts in communications from Taylor University in Indiana, a master’s degree in Christian school administration from Grace Theological Seminary in Indiana and is working toward his doctorate in Christian school leadership from Columbia International University in South Carolina.

He also holds a lifetime administrative certificate from ACSI, the school’s accrediting organization.

He and his wife, Dawn, have been married 31 years and have three sons.
