Letters to the editor
Thanks to Michael Gallagher, Arn Menconi and Tom Stone for their support to build a combination community center and child-care center in the Berry Creek 5th Filing neighborhood.
These three Eagle County commissioners approved a funding plan necessary to finance construction of this dual-purpose building. Thanks also to Kathleen Forinash, Eagle County’s director of health and human services, and the Eagle Valley Childcare Association for providing information and support for the much-needed facility.
It is my hope that Eagle County will provide capital investment annually for child-care facilities at the rate of one per year until Eagle County has enough facilities to meet the infant-through-toddler needs of the entire county.
Thanks Tom, Michael and Arn for responding decisively to meeting the child-care needs of Eagle County families. Quality child-care benefits families and employers and prepares children for entering the local education system.

Job well done
As a business owner in Avon, I would like to congratulate our town manager, Bill Efting, on a job well done. If we were to measure his performance in this town, then I would have to say he rates the best town manager we have ever had!
He led his staff with confidence, directed ever-changing Town Councils with clear thinking while still taking time to take notice of a small-business owner such as myself. I think what endeared me most to Bill was his quick wit and his ability to turn your angered moment into a laugh.
Thanks for leading this town in such a professional manner. You will be missed. May the Speedo gods be with you!
