VAIL, Colorado – A Texas man has been charged with a Class 4 felony after allegedly striking a Massachusetts man in the face with a glass Saturday at the Red Lion in Vail Village.
Vail police officers responded to the scene around 11:30 p.m. and found the suspect, Richard Boehck, 46, of Sugarland, Texas, being detained by the Red Lion’s bouncers.
Sgt. Chris Botkins said the incident was “pretty much a one-hit fight” that did a lot of damage.
The victim, David Ingema, 43, of Melrose, Mass., was bleeding heavily, Botkins said. Ingema was initially treated at Vail Valley Medical Center, but was later transferred to Denver Health for further care.
Botkins said Red Lion employees came outside looking for Vail Police officers, who patrol the village on foot, after the fight broke out. Botkins said the two men did not previously know each other.
